AI USER INTERVIEWS

AI user interviews that change what you say in market.

An AI user interview is a short conversation, guided by questions written for a decision, with a transcript you can quote later. On Pipeline Simple the decision is go-to-market. The research agent writes the guide, reads the transcript, and will not update the brief until you approve it.

What the interview is trying to learn

A useful buyer interview is not a product tour. It asks about the last time the problem showed up, how the buyer solves it today, who else has to agree, what they compared, and what would make them say no. The research agent drafts eight to ten of those questions from your current brief, each with a one sentence reason, plus a short intro the interviewer can read aloud.

You can run a study that stops at the guide. That is the right first step when you do not have transcripts yet and you want a human, or our team, to hold the same conversation every time.

Who should be in the room

For dev tools, the person who hit the error or wired the integration. For B2B SaaS, the operator who felt the problem last week and knows who else signs. For fintech, someone who will challenge a claim, because facts in the brief still have to be defensible. For D2C brands and Shopify stores, a recent buyer describing the occasion, not a persona slide.

If those people are already on your calls, paste the transcripts. If you need new participants, incentives, and consent, request recruitment from our team and approve the screener first. The app does not open a self-serve panel.

What happens to the transcript

Paste up to six transcripts into a study. Label each one, such as "Call with Jordan" or "Survey response 4". The agent returns three to six themes, quotes copied from the text you provided, and the objections buyers actually raised. A response to an objection may only use facts already in the brief.

It also drafts a replacement for the brief fields that campaigns depend on: product, buyers, differentiators, facts, and competitors. If a transcript does not justify a change, the current wording stays. You edit the draft, approve it, or leave it alone. An unapproved draft changes nothing.

What a live AI interview adds

A pasted transcript is a conversation that already happened. A live AI interview is a new one, run from the guide you approved, with follow-ups a static survey cannot ask. Pipeline Simple runs those with our team, then adds the transcripts to your next study.

A tool like Listen Labs will turn that live interview into a reel and a deck, then stop. The comparison page is blunt about why that is a waste. Bring the transcript here and the research agent puts the wording into outbound, search, creators, the website agent, and the receptionist.

How the other agents use the interview

Each study leaves a feed. Influencer gets a creator angle. GEO gets questions a buyer would type into an assistant. SEO gets page topics in the phrases people used. Outbound gets opening lines tied to a real objection. The website and inbound agents get qualification questions.

After you approve the brief, the next creator search, answer scan, site audit, and sequence reads that wording. The interview is finished when the market hears it, not when the transcript is filed.

Questions

How long should an AI user interview be?

The guide is written for about 25 minutes. That is long enough to hear the last incident, the current workaround, the buying group, and the objection, and short enough that a buyer will stay on the call.

Do I need transcripts to start?

No. A study with an empty transcript box still writes the interview guide from your brief. Themes, quotes, objections, and brief edits appear once you add transcripts.

Will the agent invent quotes?

It is instructed to copy quotes from the transcripts you paste and to drop any theme those transcripts do not support. If a line is not in the source, it should not appear in the study.

Can this replace a focus group?

A handful of interviews will surface phrasing a focus group or a multiple-choice survey usually misses. It will not replace a large quantitative sample. Use interviews for language and objections. Use a survey when you need a count.
